Our SwimAmerica certified and trained teachers offer quality instruction to all, from young children to adults. We offer both private and group lessons. Our patient instructors will gently assist all levels to enjoy and be safe in the pool.
Our lesson program operates at the at the Welleby Pool - Tennis Center at 9605 West Oakland Park Blvd., and also at the Sunrise Civic Center Family Pool located at 10610 West Oakland Park Blvd. We offer lessons year-round in the city’s heated outdoor pools.
Registration and payment are required in person at the window to the Sunrise Civic Center Pools. Pool hours are 10am to 7pm seven days per week.
Private Lessons
We offer one-on-one instruction for all age and ability levels from 18 months to adults.
Classes are typically 30 minutes and are arranged at the convenience of you and the instructor.
Cost = $25.00 per lesson.
We are scheduling classes throughout the year.
SwimAmerica Group Lessons
Our group lessons are for children ages 3 to 12. We provide 4 hours of instruction over a 2-week period. We currently offer weekend classes and evening classes.
Weekday classes typically run Mondays through Thursdays. Weekend classes are on Saturdays and Sundays. Class length and days may change depending on the instructor’s schedule and the weather. Fridays are typically used as make-up days, and the weekends may be used as necessary.
We will be having our Parent-Tot group class for children ages 10 months to 3 years of age in September and October. Parents are in the water with their child. It will be a 1-hour class on Saturdays from 10-11am. Minimum of 6 children to run the class; we will go up to 8-10 parents/students per class.
Registration and payment is required in person to reserve your child’s spot in ALL group classes. You can pay at the window to the Sunrise Civic Center Pools. We operate on a first-come, first-serve basis and because there is a maximum of 6 children per instructor in the group classes, space is limited. Minimum 4 children registered to run the class.
Cost = $60.00 per session (4 hours of instruction).
New this fall:
We will be offering adult group classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:15pm. This will be a 2-week session: 4 x 30 minute lessons. Cost is $30. See schedule below.
