Coaching Staff

Dave Wathen


Owner:  Dave Wathen

Owner of Sunrise Swimming, Dave has been working with young swimmers since 1978.  He currently has his Level 5 ASCA Certification, which is the highest achievement level for coaches in the United States.  Several of his athletes have been National Age-Group stars and many have gone on to succeed at the college and Olympic Trial levels.

Scott Tolomeo


JO, Fitness & Master's Coach:  Scott Tolomeo

Scott has been swimming for over 30 years and is currently working with the JO program, taking graduates from the Pre-JO group to the next level of training.  He also works with the Fitness and Master's groups.  Scott also trains and often competes in Master's meets and open water swims.  His daughter, Jade, coaches with the Sunrise program, and his son, Tyler, swims.

Jade Tolomeo


Pre-JO Coach:  Jade Tolomeo

Jade has been a member of the Sunrise Swimming family since 2002 when she started swimming.  She began helping with the Strokes-n-Fun group in 2010, and then moved to the Pre-JO group in 2013.  She takes graduates from the Strokes-n-Fun group to a new level of training at the age group level.  Her energy and enthusiasm are a great addition to our program. 

Christi Wathen


Strokes-n-Fun Coach:  Christi Wathen

Christi was an All-American swimmer at the University of Florida.  She has been teaching swimming since 1980 and coaching since 1997.  She brings this experience and knowledge to our entry-level swimmers in the Strokes-n-Fun group.  Dave and Christi’s two sons were long-time successful members of the Sunrise program.  

Coach Christi also manages the office and heads Sunrise Swimming’s Lesson Program. 

June Woolger


Coach Emeritus:  June Woolger

June helps out with all levels of the program.  She has been teaching and coaching swimming since 1970.   June's decades of experience and her love for children and the sport of swimming make her an invaluable asset to our program.
